Kathryn was trained under the expert eye of Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller. She teaches regular Vinyasa Flow classes influenced by Ashtanga, arm balances, inversions, core work and laughter all offered in an accessible and playful way. She is the co-founder of "Poses for Paws", an organization dedicated towards raising money for animal shelters through yoga. Kathryn is the contributing yoga expert for Women's Health Magazine, a blogger for The Huffington Post, MindBodyGreen, Gaiam and contributes regularly to Yoga Journal through articles, blogs, print and podcasts. She currently travels internationally leading workshops.

A flow helping you to 'flip the grip' for full shoulder revolved backbends such as king dancer and one footed king pigeon. Open your heart with a block to start, then a few side bending poses to further open your torso. After wild thing and a shoulder stretch, use the strap to assist with big back bends. Finish with a twist and a brief savasana. Props Needed: Two blocks and a strap.

The essence of flying pigeon is woven throughout, but fear not! It doesn't mean you'll be constantly arm balancing. Explore your core values in all different venues. Stealthily work your way into full flying pigeon pose with a smile on your face in a fun and sweaty flow. Includes sun salutations to start, hip openers and balance work.
Practice Focus: Hip Opener & Hips

Level 2-3 45 min
A totally rad practice. Let your body guide you from one posture to the next with creative fluidity and free love. Loosen your hips to start and then warm up your side body as you move through sun salutations. Sway your hips in a modified surya b, then flow through some funky transitions in your standing series. Make crazy shapes with your headstand before taking it to the floor. Props Suggested: Wall space.
