Stryker

Rod Stryker is the founder of ParaYoga and widely considered to be one of the West's leading authorities on the ancient traditions of yoga, tantra, and meditation. He has taught for nearly thirty-five years and authored, \"The Four Desires: Creating a Life of Purpose, Happiness, Prosperity and Freedom\" as well as countless articles on yoga and meditation. A highly respected speaker, he is known for making the deepest aspects of yogic science practical and accessible to audiences from all walks of life, from corporations to yoga teachers and students of all levels. Having studied closely with two great Tantric yoga masters, Rod is one of only a few Americans transmitting an authentic, living tradition, one that has been practiced and handed down from teacher to student for thousands of years. He continues to lead trainings and advanced yoga study programs throughout the world and to guide others to the positive intersection of ancient wisdom and modern life.

Yoga

Level 2 90 mins

The 5 most essential poses in yoga? Find the answer in this practice. Some hints: they are not standing poses, although standing poses help prepare you for them; handstand is not one of them; each one of the five is tri-dosha--meaning they are good for everyone's constitution. This delicious practice builds immunity, improves sleep and internal organ function, stokes gastric fire and releases muscular tension, in other words, it tones the entire body and mind. Includes ending meditation.

Yoga

Level 2-3 90 mins

Build vital force at your navel center through powerful asanas, chanting and deep engagement with your bandhas. You'll begin with standing poses as you lengthen your inhale and gain access to mula bandha. Continue cultivating prana and deepening your bandha practice with active chanting in asanas that include locust, plank, bow and navasana. Apply sitali (cooling breath) to release excess heat, before closing with a meditation at your navel center, the seat of your personal power.

Meditation

5 mins

Balance intellect and intelligence (heart and mind) with this calming meditation. Allow yourself to open up and receive the unique wisdom that results when your mind and heart merge. Beginning in a comfortable seated position, learn to use your hands to connect your mind and heart. It is recommended that you bring to the practice a specific intention or desire for positive change related to any aspect of your life. Props Suggested: A bolster or a blanket.
