Jo offers over 15 years of experience in leading Vinyasa Flow classes that are devoted to creating a sacred space in which you can channel energy towards transformative and life affirming means. This is done through intention, dedication, prayer, conscious breath, sound and movements that reflect radical self care in the truth of the moment. Vinyasa is an unhurried exploratory and creative flow that is steeped in the traditions of yoga master Krishnamacharya and the yoga traditions of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga. With over 20 years of practice and devotion to the healing arts including; meditation, Shiatsu & 5 Element Theory, Energetic Bodywork, Prenatal/Post Natal yoga, Nutrition, Anatomy/Physiology and Core Shamanism; Jo brings into the practice a reverence for the mystery of life and encourages all students to practice with spontaneity by stepping into the unknown.

Meditation

Level 1 10 mins

Strengthen your ability to ground yourself and return to the present moment when you’re feeling agitated in this calming mindfulness meditation. Allow your thoughts to wander, then gently refocus your mind by tuning into your breath, repeating this several times to practice. This meditation is narrated by Jo Tastula and overseen by Glo’s Yoga & Meditation Expert, Sara Ivanhoe, M.A.

Yoga

Increase awareness and cultivate patience in this slow-moving but steadily strong Vinyasa class that holds each pose for five full breaths. Warm up in Down Dog and Cobra Pose, then move through a flow that builds intensity, featuring deep Forward Folds and Squats, Revolved Triangle, Crow Pose, Camel Pose, and Bow Pose. This mindfulness meditation guides you in visualizing yourself through someone else’s eyes to notice how your thoughts and feelings connect to your sense of self. Use this technique to become more humble and aware of others, letting go of moments of selfishness.
