Steven Espinosa


Following a fifteen year career as a professional dancer, Steven eventually discovered yoga and immediately fell in love.

After participating in the first Anusara teacher training in Los Angeles, Steven began teaching in 2001. During this time he has taught both nationally and internationally. In 2004, Steven was invited to Berlin, Germany where he helped open two successful studios.

With his heart-oriented approach to yoga, combined with a deep understanding of alignment, therapeutics and philosophy, Steven's highest hope is to inspire and empower students to remember the true teacher within their own heart.

Steven is grateful to all of his teachers and is excited and honored to be a part of the YogaGlo experience.

Recent classes

Doing a pose more than once can enhance a deeper understanding of your body and how it changes from pose to pose. Mindfully move slowly through a brief meditation and then into a warm up of downward dog and push ups on your knees. A series of standing poses will continue to build your strength and flexibility. Finish with hip openers, backbends and twists. Observe how your body changes as you repeat.
Practice Focus:

Level 2 60 min
Having a rough day? Move through standing and seated poses in an all around practice that will have you feeling better by the end. Get in your body and focus on enjoying your practice. There is no need to go too deep in this one. Coming to your mat is one of the quickest ways to turn that frown upside down. Props Needed: Two blocks, a bolster and a strap.
Practice Focus:

Level 1 20 min
Mantras or affirmations can be a powerful tool in creating your desired intention. Pick an affirmation such as "I am grateful" or "I am confident" or "I believe in myself" and recite that phrase silently to yourself while moving through your practice. After a short warm up, move through standing poses while opening up your shoulders. An inversion option is given, followed by hip and thigh openers, backbends and savasana.
