Extension of the spine and the movement of back bending is extremely important for all of us in an age where sitting is how we spend so much of our time. Moving into extension and backbends not only elongates the hip flexors after sitting so much, but also energizes the central nervous system. Move through a very basic introduction to a classical sequence of backbends which resembles the beginning of the 2nd series of Ashtanga Yoga.
