Noah Mazé
Noah Mazé loves yoga. I had the great good fortune of being immersed in yoga from birth. As I grew up, my family practiced Siddha Yoga Meditation. I met Swami Muktananada when I was 5 years old, and later Gurumayi Chidvilasanada. I spent much time in Siddha Yoga Ashrams in India and the United States into my early twenties. I took my first hatha yoga classes when I was 14 years old. I felt home in this marriage of the physical and contemplative practices. Then, I studied and practiced with Richard Freeman, in Ashtanga Vinyasa. I received my bachelors degree from Prescott College in 1997, in Outdoor Education, and worked for years for Outward Bound teaching groups of teenagers and young adults life and technical skills through wilderness journeys. I took my first classes with Anusara Yoga founder, John Friend, in 1995, and I completed my first teacher training in the Anusara method in 1999. I became a licensed Certified Anusara Yoga teacher in 2002, and have taught yoga full time ever since. Philosophically, in the last decade, I have studied extensively with Tantric scholar, Douglas R. Brooks, in the Srividya lineage of Rajanaka Yoga. Always a student, I continue my yoga education with John Friend, teachers of Iyengar Yoga, and teachers of all hatha yoga styles and traditions. Home in LA, I am the proud father of three year old daughter, Madeleine, and new-born son, Oliver. I am especially lucky to share my life with my beloved wife, Tracy. Oh, and we also share our home with four rescued four leggeds. My other passions include cycling, outdoor recreation, practicing yoga, shopping at the local farmer's market, baking, playing with my kids and reading obscure yogic texts. I have an active local, domestic, and international teaching schedule. I offer classes from basic to advanced, workshops, intensives, immersions, teacher trainings, retreats and therapeutics courses. I am a partner (with Darren Rhodes and Christina Sell) in The School of Yoga, which offers educational programs that connect people to the healing power of the Heart's Light through traditional spiritual teachings, disciplined yogic practices and the transformational power of community. The School of Yoga is dedicated to authentic spirituality, practical work on self and helping people of all ages, sizes and backgrounds experience the joy of yoga and conscious living. One of a handful of original teachers on YogaGlo.com, I am proud to serve as a faculty member on that Website, where you may take online classes and download workshops with me (and other great teachers). www.noahmazeyoga.com 9 |
