30 Minute Talk on Balancing the Pitta Dosha, the Element of Fire The primary element of the pitta dosha is fire. It controls all of the forces of transformation in our internal body, Maintaining a healthy relationship with our inner fire is key to promoting our health and well-being. How do we keep the flame of our inner digestive fire burning without it spreading throughout our entire body like a forest fire? This is the subject of our discussion.

Dear Acacia, what a fortunate stumble! It dan be helpful for us to understand fire in all of it's manifestations and to find ways to connect with the luminosity and not the raging inferno. May you enjoy your inner bright light and find a way to live in glorious balance. Thanks for the note and sharing Yogaglo! Felicia

    Dear Kate
Thank you for your note & for sharing your experience. Sometimes we only see one aspect of the fire and forget that there are many views and meanings and moments of the flame. We can embrace & shift our relationships with these energies. Sattwa, or clarity & equanimity, is the subtle quality of the pitta dosha, to give you something else to consider.
Happy stoking of the flames. Hope it stays within the ring of rocks in the campfire.

    Hello Felicia,

I have a lot of pitta action as part of my natural tendencies, last week during the lunar eclipse, it seemed to jump out of the campfire and into the forest. Thanks to your lecture, I learned that clarity is a 'right relationship' with pitta. I never related the two experiences as part of the same quality, that is anger and clarity as different expressions of pitta. Knowing that is somehow very reassuring.

    Thanks & Namaste,
    Kate

    Dear Kim
Thank you for your comments. You touched on such a key point--that fire is fire, on its own, there's no judgment on it.
We're planning some more Ayurveda specific content. Let me know if you have any specific requests.

    Felicia,
I found this talk phenominal. I am a pitta and it is a great reminder that the fire is just a fire and it isnt good or bad it is our relationship to it that makes the fire very benefical or very dangerous.
Thanks for sharing the wisdom, looking forward to more talks from you

    Kim
