Yin Yoga focuses on lengthening the connective tissue that surrounds the joints in the body, with particular attention to the hips, pelvis, and lower back. Postures (mostly seated) are held--often with the use of props--for 3-10 minutes per side, as connective tissue requires more time to stretch than muscle tissue. The essence of a Yin Yoga practice is surrender.
**A 4 inch foam yoga block (or household item such as a dictionary or large soup can!) and a blanket or bolster are recommended.

I either fell asleep or was in deep meditation during the square pose forward bend...sometimes I'm not sure which. But the whole class was so relaxing and went by way too quickly!

Thank you Genevieve for introducing Yin to me. I greatly enjoy it and have found it to help me focus on the areas I am most tight. Will you be offering or posting any new classes online?
Thank you again,
