Stress Reduction

Looking for stress relief?  Find it via working and heating the hips (the storage center for our emotions) through a rigorous standing sequence using lunges, Warrior 1 & 2, Side-angle pose (Parsvakonnasana) and one-legged chair (ardha uttkatasana).  From there, we take it to the floor and work through half-lord of the fishes pose (ardha matsyendrasana), head-to-knee pose (janu sirsasana) and single footed king pigeon pose (eka pada rajakapotasana). We finish off with bound-angle pose (baddha konnasana), happy baby pose (ananda balasana) and child's pose (balasana).

    Great morning flow on the beach in Grand Bahama. The shifting sand and slight incline adds a little more challenge!!!

    Dice, you're already one of my favs on Yogaglo, but this one takes the prize for best 30 min practice. I see myself doing this one again and again. . .and if I have more time, just holding some of the poses longer. Thanks a ton for all the knowledge, insight, stress relief, flexibility and strength you impart!

      Hey Kimberly! Glad you enjoyed this practice. Sometimes all we have is 30min and we have to get our practice in somehow :) You're so right...if you have more time, hold the poses longer! Practice on my fellow yogi!

    Hi Dice,
    thank you for this nice hip opening routine , love the sequencing on this 30 min practice! i would have just appreciate a slower pace of your instructions... or even sometime less, can be more :) specially in a stress reduction sequence!

      Hey Mimi. Glad you enjoyed the hip opening practice. Yea...looking back at this video, it was filmed a little earlier in my teaching career. I was a little over excited to share what I love so much! :) Check out some of my newer classes. Some are a little slower paced and my voice might be a little calmer...no guarantees though! I'm still always excited to share my yoga

    thanks dice, just what I've been looking for this morning. My left shoulder is acting up, so no ashtanga for me, but work is stressing me out, so this is a good alternative to calm me down and release my negativity.

    Really awesome way to open up the hips. I feel that I carry a lot of tension in my hips and can really tell when I need a release because I am also feeling a strain in my lower to mid back. Thanks for not only giving my hips a much needed, "ah...", but my back, as well. Love eka Padang rajakapoyasana. I could spend days in that pose!

    I was feeling resistant to moving so fast to de-stress, seemed hurried...but TOTALLY burned off things that had been irritating me! Proves it works when you give yourself to the practice and let go of your whiny voices! I LOVED this sequence into pigeon. Seemed to help me find better alignment than ever. Nice surprise! XO, Tracy

    Great instructions for all levels. My hips feel nice and loose and I love the sense of calmness combined with the energetic flow that Dice magically provided. A thiry minute focus on core would be great, Dice. A sort of dilution of your 10 minute killer class. :) Thanks for a great class.

    I'd loved the show. The only thing to mention is that Dice speaks a little fast... that doesn't fit that good to the topic: stress relief ;)

    @Joe - I think if you can plug a DVI cable from the computer to your TV, you're good to go. If that still doesn't make sense, go to your local radio shack or Best Buy and ask for a computer->TV cable! I hope that helps :)
