Flow & Go for Pregnancy

Pre/Post Natal | By Stephanie Snyder on Aug 04 2012
This prenatal class is for the mama with prior vinyasa experience. We move through some half sun salutes, strong standing sequence and even a few chatturangas. We will open the heart with Camel pose and end with a seated straddle. This is a straight forward flo n go for pregnancy.

I am almost 4 months now and that is my first "prenatal" class. I am avid yogi and knew it was time to start modifying. Thank you so much for this practice. I began to cry when you said "you are practicing with your baby"...it was the first time I had really thought of it like that. This is also my first pregnancy, so giving up my old "moves" has been a little diffcult, but I know it's best. Please if you can do any more classes like these, I think we would all love it. Thank you so much! Much Love...M.O.

      Hey Melissa-
I get your anxiety about 'losing' your practice or resistance to modifying. I had the same reaction in my first pregnancy. But I can tell you that not only will you and your baby benefit greatly from modifying but also it all comes back! After a healthy postnatal period of time you will find that your body remembers the practice. So enjoy this time of letting go and congrats!

I LOVED this! I've done all of your others since my first trimester, and am in my 8th month now. I really enjoyed the intensity and the length. It's nice on the days when I have more gumption. Thanks for this!

Thank you so much! I'm a yoga instructor and 17 weeks pregnant. I've really been struggling with hip and low back pain. I really want to continue teaching as long as I can, as there are very limited instructors in my town. With that, I practice as often as I can for my students but try as I might...have not been able to on some days because of the pain. This class is the only thing that has brought me relief. I think mostly because you encourage honoring your body and listening to your body. I was so obsessed with alignment and your cues made me adjust according to what my body was screaming to me. Sometimes we forget how important it is to be gentle with ourselves, and when we are, the body seems to be that much more open. You are incredible! I'm positive that a higher power uses you as a conduit because you have no idea the peace your practice brings to my mind, body and spirit. I feel so centered and grounded, at ease now. THANK YOU with a huge hug!

"Sometimes we forget how important it is to be gentle with ourselves, and when we are, the body seems to be that much more open"- you said it, so true. Thank you for your comment. Anytime I can help another mom is a great moment for me. Hugs back to you Lorie!

I'm so pleased to have a new prenatal class from Stephanie! Is it greedy to ask for even more?! :) I must have done all the others dozens of times already. Thanks for these great sessions.
