Post-Endurance Training Refresh

Vinyasa Flow | By Tiffany Cruikshank on Aug 24 2012
This is a quick refresher for the lower body after an endurance activity of some sort whether it be a race like a marathon or triathalon or just a long training run. This practice will help you ease in and gently relengthen the tissues while increasing the circulation to help flush the lactic acid out of the tissues to speed recover. This could also be used as a more mellow yin style hip opening class for anyone.

I just did this immediately following one of my long runs training for an upcoming half marathon. I did not have the usual tightness in my hips, back, or hamstrings that I usually do. And, I usually stretch a lot and foam roll. This practice is AMAZING! Thank you, Tiffany!

I too do a post run sequence followed by Melt foam roller +/or yoga therapy balls. Is it my imagination or did this really work better??? Doing it again after run tonight to see.

Excellent! Did this the day after my last 20-miler of marathon training - this was just what I needed, especially for those tight hips! Thanks, Kara (Michael's wife)

I just used this practice as a precursor for my upcoming golf game. My legs feel "young". I'll tell you how it goes. Thanks.

Your book is interesting. I am on my fifth day of a detox diet. Feeling great. We need more knowledge in the field of "wellness".

    Namaste

I found other post workout recovery classes sometimes too dynamic after a long tough work out. This one feels so good. Perfect, thank you Tiffany! Alain, Netherlands

Tiffany - you are the world's best-kept secret! Can't wait to eventually attend training with you. I teach yoga (on the side) in Honolulu, have an athletic background, and do your classes daily. They are the best classes out there! Thanks for being awesome!
