Hi Kia - I am using this class as a 40 day (currently on day 16) while I figure out what I want to do post college. The amount of progress made is cherished. I thank you very much for your open hearted guidance. One question, during the first Kriya you say, "inhale left, exhale right" but when first explaining the kriya the inhale/exhale is opposite. Was that an accident? Take care Kia.. thank you so much again.. you really brighten my day :)
    • Kia Miller     Sep 3rd, 2014
Congratulations on your commitment to your sadhana :)
RE your question: Could be a mistake. Inhale left, exhale right!
      • Lindsay Conrad     Sep 5th, 2014
Thank you for your support and clarification :)
  • Jenny Gaynor     Jul 25th, 2014

  • Mui Tsun     Jun 24th, 2014
Hi Kia. Love your Kundalini sessions. One question please. This is my third practice. With all three I've felt light-headed and very sleepy towards the end. In fact I fell asleep at the end today. Is that normal? Thank you.
    • Kia Miller     Jul 9th, 2014
Hi Mui, thank you for your question. Often when we are new to the practice and our energy is adjusting we may feel what you are describing. Regular practice helps to revitalize, rejuvenate and balance our energy. At the beginning this can be needing to sleep and integrate! Many blessings, Kia

  • Lizanne Blair     Apr 19th, 2013
In this practice I am having difficulty coordinating breath of fire breathing & punching - I find that I can do one or the other? Actually, pranayama mixed with other physical action, (cobra pose, forward bend) also challenge me. Any advice on how I should coordinate the physical exertions with the breath?
    with much thanks,
    • Kia Miller     Apr 23rd, 2013
Great question Lizanne, it comes with practice! Do the best you can to start with the breath of fire, then add the punching and see if you can create a rhythm that way! In Cobra with Breath of Fire, just come as high as you can whilst maintaining the breath. These techniques can be frustrating to begin, but if you stay with them you will start to penetrate more deeply! Hope this helps.. Many blessings, Kia
  • Lacey Jones     Apr 18th, 2013
Absolutely lovely. I will make sure to add this to my regular routine.
  • seher misirli     Mar 24th, 2013
I sure will be coming back to this very often. It is very uplifting and grounding at the same time.
Thank you very much for being such a great vessel for this beautiful, powerful teaching of kundalini yoga to spread. May your way be always full of light!
    • Kia Miller     Mar 24th, 2013
Thank you Seher, and Britta below. May the blessings keep expanding so all may feel more and more liberated from the unnecessary and more connected to their truth on all levels...
  • Britta Schuele     Jan 17th, 2013
Thank you! That was sooooo balancing and wonderful, I will do it again and again!
  • Rachel Durling     Jan 15th, 2013
Thank you so much for your inspired videos; I feel brighter and more centered in my truth when I wake up and practice with you. I have a question about the first exercise in this practice...does the inhale happen when the left hand is on the heart or when you rotate to the left? I wasn't sure because I took another one of your classes with the same exercise but the breathing seemed to be opposite. namaste
    • Kia Miller     Jan 15th, 2013
HI Rachel, Thank you for your lovely feedback. Usually when you do this exercise you inhale as you rotate to the left, and exhale when you rotate to the right!
      Blessings, Kia
  • Layne Mosler     Jan 10th, 2013
Never thought I'd be punching in yoga class - oh, what fun.
The pauses between poses are wonderful for grounding, and the reminders to 'show up' are beautifully timed. Another favorite practice. Many thanks.
  • Nina Natina     Dec 7th, 2012
You're so great, Kia! Your smile shines straight through my laptop screen and to my heart!

Thank you Kia! I am loving your Kundalini classes.
  • Jo Pet     Oct 20th, 2012
Dear Kia, I am doing my 40 days with this kriya. I tried few others you teach here and this one particularly resonated, felt it strongly in my heart, also in a physical sense, it really seems to balance me and open up to myself and surroundings. So I'm half way though my 'challenge' although it is more of a pleasure to do it everyday and benefits are tangible. I wanted to ask you about one of the postures, not sure what the name of it is, but its the one sitting down in easy pose and doing the 'pump' movements down from the heart to the pelvic area. Is there are particular meaning / purpose/benefit of this one? with other ones I seem to know so its easier for me to contemplate on them as I practise. Could you tell me a bit more about this particular one? Big thank you again for this class.

    • Kia Miller     Oct 20th, 2012
Hi Jo, congratulations on your commitment and enjoyment of the practice. The 'pump' movements are to balance your prana and apana, and energizing your heart - make sense? Many blessings, Kia
  • Elyn Corredor     Oct 6th, 2012

  • Erika Mitschrich     Sep 10th, 2012
Thank you Kia for another beautiful practice. I have been practicing one kundalini class a day and I feel it is really helping me connect more deeply with my breath and begin my day from a much more centred and loving place. This certainly benefits not only me, but my colleagues, and students as well. Sat Nam :)
    • Kia Miller     Sep 20th, 2012
      Dear Erika,
I am so glad you are practicing this regularly and feeling the subtle shifts from day to day. What a gift the practice of yoga is. May you continue to deepen in yourself in all ways. Blessings, Kia
  • Rachel Durling     Aug 30th, 2012
I love all of your classes. I'm new to kundalini and I really feel the power of each exercise but when we hold our breath at the end I almost always feel dizzy, especially when I engage mula bhanda I feel like I'm going to faint and have to immediately let my breath out and open my eyes. Do you have any advice for me?
    • Kia Miller     Aug 30th, 2012
Hi Rachel, do a very short hold at the end of the breath, even just a few seconds, that should stop the dizziness. You can gradually build the hold one second at a time. Let me know if that helps. Blessings, Kia
  • Sonia Turmo     Aug 27th, 2012

I am truly inspired by your videos in my own practice and teaching. From one yoga instructor to another - Bravo!!! Sat Nam:)

  • Martha McAlpine     Jul 22nd, 2012
Kia, this was lovely and I often feel a lift from kundalini. Is there any practice to help quiet the nervous system in preparation for sleep? Sometimes I worr if I do a practice too late it will keep me up. Would love to have a Oriya for the evening. Thanks for your teachings! Keep adding mor kundalini to yogaglo!
    • Kia Miller     Jul 23rd, 2012
Dear Martha, Thanks for your comments. I will start adding some cooling/calming kriyas and meditations to do before bed :) Blessings, Kia

  • Jennifer Hussey     Jul 17th, 2012
I'm on Day 9 of a 21-Day yoga challenge with my yoga studio and wasn't able to make it to class tonight. I LOVE kundalini yoga and hopefully my studio will be able to add that to their options. In the meantime, I gravitated to this class and it was EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much.
  • Natalia Kim     Jul 17th, 2012
My first full Kundalini class really needed that kind of breath practice today!
  • Jennifer Pittam     Jul 15th, 2012
I worked through this class online today (I live in the UK). Only my second Kundalini class. I can't believe how clean and energized I feel now - will definitely come back to this lesson again. Thank you.

    Beautiful, thanks Kia!
  • Jill      Jul 13th, 2012
This was my first Kundalini class - I certainly feel energised and detoxed! I wonder, do you have a class that teaches how to do the breath of fire properly, becuase I'm not sure, as a beginner, I was doing it right. I could only do it a lot slower.
    • Kia Miller     Jul 15th, 2012
Hi Jill, We will have a class up soon that specifically addresses breath of fire. For now, just make sure that your belly in pulling IN on the EXHALE and that the inhale is passive (often we pull the belly in on the inhale - not what we want!). Then just go at the pace that works for you. Start slowly and as you strengthen your core muscles you will be able to build up the pace. Doing slowly for now is perfect! So glad you enjoyed the practice. I just taught it today at the San Diego Yoga Journal Conference! Blessings, Kia
  • Stephanie Barton     Jul 11th, 2012
This practice was exactly what I needed today. All morning I've been struggling to find a deep breath and after practicing I have found a space of calm. Your classes have been completely inspiring for me that I've begun to share some of the kriyas with my own students and they are responding with great pleasure and open hearts!!! Thank you for sharing your inspiration and your amazing light. Namaste Kia!

  • Anne Marie Nantais     Jul 10th, 2012
I've been stuck for a little bit in my inner work and in my yoga practice. When I saw the description of your class, I confess, I rolled my eyes at the claim that "You WILL feel the shift in your energy and consciousness." Some deep part of me, though, was hoping that it could be possible, and I took your class. My inner skeptic has been replaced by a deeper energized calm. Thank you, Kia, for cracking me open again today and jump starting a new outlook and hope for what I am moving towards in my life. It warms my heart, too, to see that you must have posted your message below while I was practicing with this video... another connection on a subtle level. Amazing how may ways vibrations may travel! Thank you, Kia, for this class and sharing your energy with others. I will be returning!
    • Kia Miller     Jul 10th, 2012
Thanks Anne Marie for your message. I am so glad you took the class and had a positive experience. I too began from a skeptical place and have been constantly surprised at the power of the practice to transform and 'en-lighten' me! Blessings, Kia
  • Kia Miller     Jul 10th, 2012
So lovely to hear all your comments. Here is an inspiring quote from Yogi Bhajan that for me matches the Kriya! "The first step to life is to learn to send vibrations out. Become a beacon of vibratory power of your Soul. Let it touch the unlimited shores. All other powers are useless if you don't have your own power. And the power of your Soul is the pure power. Let the vibration go out from you. It is your prayer. It will meet all challenges unto Infinity."
