Backbends for Strength, Stamina & Playfulness

Backbends to create strength, stamina and playfulness. This strong class begins with sun salutations, standing poses in vinyasa, thigh stretches, forearm balance variations, backbends with props (block, strap, folding chairs), into upward bow 1 and 2 (urdhva dhanurasana I & II) and two leg inverted staff pose (dwi pada viparita dandasana) with a strap. This class uses a lot of props, to build opening with support, and the propped backbends can also substitute for the full poses. This class does not include savasana (final resting pose), so take extra time if you can to rest.

    I love taking all your backbend focused classes. I find that your alignment tips and visual cues really helped eliminate the pain of backbend into a pain free backbend. You approach these backbends with the right pace, not daunting at all. Love the upper back stretch with the block and the straps behind the head, my armpits and shoulders felt sooo much tension now I know where the problem is coming from. thanks noah!

    One of your best backbend classes. By looping the toes with the belt, the range of coiling of my chest in Dwi pada Urdhva Dhanurasana increased quite a bit.
