Go With the Flow

Vinyasa Flow | By Dice Iida-Klein on Mar 21 2012
A go with the flow class where upon students requests, we make our way through a challenging shoulder and hip opening/strengthening practice. Handstand and Forearm balance options are given throughout the flow. Some strong standing sequences are followed by hip openers like pigeon prep and ardha matsyendrasana (half lord of the fishes pose), where the option for a few arm balances is given. A 1 minute backbend and forward fold finish this practice. Enjoy my fellow yogis!

@Lisa - Thank you for your kind words. Switching from 2 to 1 is a tricky transition. Are we talking from one arm to the opposite arm? Or changing the leg on the same arm? Both are a challenge. The ability to get one's butt up above the shoulder line will help to switch and transfer the legs. It's almost like you're attempting to do a bent-knee pike up to handstand, or picking up and jumping back. I think a tutorial is needed for this one! More to come :)

This class was fun because of all the variations that made poses more challenging. I liked the way twists were incorporated into this practice.

Hi Dice, great class! Like the pigeon to pike/variations. Love watching Bri in ur classes & u in her classes (YA). U both inspire me to practice daily. Any tips on switching koudinyasana 2 to 1? As always, so grateful for ur classes...thanks!
