thx for your calming presence and frequent reminder to accept, allow, ground. my kitties are often playful companions on the mat, but even they were lulled to sleep. xo
  • Lynn Lynn     Nov 16th, 2013
Got a busy day ahead of me, this class was just right to fit in some yoga and settle down a bit before I immerse my self in the chaotic world of photographing several hundred artists and their patrons during an Open Studios event.
    • Tara Judelle     Nov 16th, 2013
Good luck with you day Lynn. Sounds amazing, and wonderful- I hope that you are able to keep your ground amid the creative hubbub! XO T
  • Shelley Carpenter     Oct 23rd, 2013
Thank you so much! Just what I needed-a safe, grounding practice. My hips got so open that I was able to bind in the twist for the first time ever!
  • Shalom Sie     Sep 22nd, 2013
Strolling through the 45 minute Hip Opener classes, I see your name and my mind goes "oh! That's my girl. Gotta try this class out" ;-) haha

  • Mara Dew     May 14th, 2013
Allowing your breath to give your muscles a massage...yes, totally amazing.
    • Tara Judelle     May 14th, 2013
Thank you Mara. It has been proven, I am finding, that simply sending your attention to different places in the body activates those places neurologically. Enjoy. Tara
  • l fletcher     Apr 14th, 2013
What a yummy and blissful class. Thank you!
  • andrea naranjo     Feb 24th, 2013
I can do this class over and over again I feel Great! Gracias!!
    • Tara Judelle     Feb 26th, 2013
Andrea, amazing. Every time you do the class, like anytime someone reads a book or looks at a picture, it lives again, in the ether. My greatest hope is that when you do it, I Accept Allow and Ground also, wherever I am in the world. XO T
  • laurie greenberg     Feb 12th, 2013
    Hi Tara,

I agree w Nick (extend to an hour)...beautiful class...I add a few back bends followed by supine twists to complete an hour. I love the sound track because it fits the poses so well.
    Namaste,
    Laurie
  • Nick Heng     Feb 6th, 2013

  • Ioulia Nemtseva     Jan 14th, 2013
Oh, what a sweet practice. I feel well aligned and grounded. Thank you, Tara.
  • Amy C.     Nov 29th, 2012
I needed the opening and grounding today. I can't, however, get into some of the deeper seated poses due to ankle and knee issues (old soccer injuries, surgeries, no cartilage in one knee...) do you have modification recommendations or even alternate pose recommendations? I love your classes, thank you.
    • Tara Judelle     Jan 4th, 2013
Amy, Try using blocks or blankets underneath your pelvis in the seated poses. See if you can lift pressure off the ankles an knees by lifting the seat. Tara
  • Aureline Guillot     Nov 26th, 2012
Hi Tara, I got a hip operation a couple of months ago and a practice like this is such a blessing for me. I feel like getting free again with my body, renew and it gives me hopes to get back to dance. Thank you so much for what you share. Greetings from a french practicer.
    • Tara Judelle     Dec 11th, 2012

    • Tara Judelle     Dec 11th, 2012
Chloe, this year, has been one long flight after another for me. So I can truly empathize on the need to ground after a long stint in the air. XO Tara

Natalie, Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
  • R Sharp     Oct 8th, 2012
Another beautiful class. I love the mantra and how you seamlessly weave it in. This was just what I needed today - a part of me is fighting something that I know I must do, but this practice helped me recenter, connect with my resources, and TRUST. I accept. I allow. I ground. Thank you!
    • Tara Judelle     Oct 9th, 2012
R Sharp, I'm glad you liked it. It arose spontaneously from a deep need to have a grounding presence in life. I'm glad it works for you.

  • Deborah Moulton     Sep 17th, 2012
Wonderful class!!! what powerful stretches. I could really feel it in my hips. I liked how you wove in the internal organs role ( I did your class with spleen and liver) - also the mantra was great - used it during the day -and it also connected with Harshada's meditation class this week - I'd just done it before your class so tried to use the first Limb yamas. I enjoy your classes as i learn more physically and spiritually, each time. Namaste

  • Julie Phipps     Aug 18th, 2012
beautiful good hip opener and centering
  • Robert Sandor     Aug 17th, 2012
Thank you Tara! That was beautiful, meaningful and got deeply in my hips! I loved your specific cues and the meaningful mantra I understood. I'll keep using it. Namaste!
    • Tara Judelle     Aug 24th, 2012
Robert, this mantra has been MY MANTRA- while traveling through Europe. I have been playing with making mantras in my own language as an anchor for my mind- realizing that sometimes negative mantras follow us around to our detriment. So why not reverse the cycle.
      XO
      Tara
  • DanaJude Olsen     Aug 15th, 2012
Thank you for a lovely practice. Hip opening practices have been very helpful for chronic bursitis in my hips...in fact, they have been the only way to truly keep the bursitis in check. Namaste.
  • Devarati Cote     Aug 15th, 2012
Thank you Tara for this great routine! It really made a difference in my awareness of my hips and created a beautiful fluidity there by the end of the practice. As always, I love your full, steady, calm voice, especially that I do yoga right after I jump out of bed. I also appreciate how Hatha aims for quality and subtlety rather than aiming for quantity at top speed. When they are well executed, with awareness and care, practices don't need 30 postures to be effective. Namasté!
    • Tara Judelle     Aug 24th, 2012
Devarati, thank you for this amazing reflection. I agree. It is all about quality. I have been running into people lately a lot, saying to me, "I don't understand, I am doing yoga every day and I still have back pain???" When I ask what they are doing it is usually something that is fast and not necessarily helping with the source of the problem. All yoga's are great, but it is like saying, "I don't understand I am eating everyday and I still have stomach problems" What are you eating???
So yes, for me quality is everything!
  • Andris Lagsdin     Aug 13th, 2012
    Tara,
Wow! Thank you. Looking forward to incorporating these hip openers into my practice. Accept, allow and ground is perfect timing for me. TY.

    • Tara Judelle     Aug 24th, 2012
Andris, Having traveled extensively in the last three months, accept, allow, and ground has been my mantra. I am starting to think there is nothing else. Perhaps then we good add- act. T
      • Deborah Moulton     Sep 17th, 2012
A good addition Tara 'ie 'add' – ( ie accept-allow-ground-act) i have just returned to Australia after living and working for 8 years in the Philippines ( with 5 months also in the Middle East) - your mantra is so well suited for travelling and living in a different culture to one's own ( and also relevant for that!), in that it helps you stop, slow down, recognise and understand difference
        • Deborah Moulton     Sep 17th, 2012
Cont...Understanding difference is the first step in accepting difference which is a bridge to reducing conflicts which begin with the individual. It is also a marvellous tool to surface one's own buttons which are our beliefs and values and 'shoulds' - life is one big lesson when you 'accept - allow - ground', then you have a choice on how you act. Cheers, Deb Moulton

  • Laura Jacobs     Aug 6th, 2012
Best class I've allowed myself to do on here. I struggle to stay focused with home practice. Couldn't believe I managed 45 minutes without loosing focus. Thanks
    • Tara Judelle     Aug 7th, 2012
Laura, I fully understand the struggle to stay engaged with home practice. I hope that your success in completing one class, will aid in creating a new discipline for yourself at home. X Tara
  • Brian Cullimore     Aug 5th, 2012
Thanks Tara. I have very low hip flexibility so this felt like it helps a lot. My knees are always high up when doing the cross legged poses.
    • Tara Judelle     Aug 7th, 2012
Brian, I hear you. When doing the hip, openers and forward bends, it is helpful to place your self on a folded blanket or a block in order to lift your hips, and to facilitate a tilt forward in your sacrum. Usually , when doing this category of poses, elevating the hips will aid in creating space and comfort for the hips.
