Thank you, Harshada. I really needed that and will continue with this meditation.
    Love and Light.

Well that was uncomfortable! Maybe need to try it again in a few days. It softened the edges in me a little though.

    Much respect.

This meditation helped me to realise that I could give compassion and energy without it in anyway draining my own energy resources. On the contrary, I found my light energy surrounding me increase from next to nothing to a swirling vortex by the end of the exercise. I felt afraid to give to my adversary because I felt I would be vulnerable, unprotected. I was happily wrong. A lot of my hostility was sourced from that fear, while I recognise I have a way to go, I feel pleased and grateful to have done this practise. Thank you Harshada

Thank for you sharing this meditation. I am struggling with a long-time coworker that is a very challenging personality and cuts me down. After much work on my part I had cultivated a positive relationship and trust, yet recently I was hurt and my trust severely broken. It has been such a struggle and disappointment.

This meditation was a huge release for me and I will practice it again. Your meditations are a truly a gift to me, that help me to let go and heal and move on a better and more true self. Thanks Greatly.

Am going to a party where my adversary will be so am practicing sending light and compassion. Would also like to perform a gesture of respect- we will see how it goes x

Too bad there is not a place to upload videos here- I could film my dog's meditation and share it with you! Thanks for changing my life and my dog's life too! Om shanti x

@Harshada, recognize it - we have won! But we love you and your meditations deeply, so don't be angry about our innocence about the depth of the music. I am an AC/DC fan and that is my excuse! Love & Peace to you

Thanks everybody- we will discuss the "sound bed" - that's the background sound. Up until now, we have used a recording of the instrument called the Tamboura. It is a traditional Indian thing. Sometimes it's the volume or the mix or even the recording- and yes- we can play with not using anything.
We find it on the whole useful because it helps to mitigate the distraction of outside noises and also creates a sort of OM that everything else comes out of. But your voices have been heard.

@Maurey made me laugh so much - the story with your dog! Really funny ... and agree to some comments actually, changing the music now and then would be nice <3 Thx

I feel very calm and at peace with the person I focused on in this meditation. I think it might be nice to have meditations without music occasionally but the music sends my dog Frankie into a trance practically! He snores so loudly sometimes I have to listen up for the instructions. Too funny x

Good AM., tried this and two adversaries showed up. One from 2o years ago, when I was not too swell either. 1 who just surfaced in my life from 4 years ago. Thanks Harsada. Hope you are doing well.
  • pilar diaz     Apr 8th, 2012
@yogagal - i feel the same way. it would be nice to have a meditation without music. even if just once a month! please harshada?
  • Harshada Wagner     Mar 26th, 2012
    Amber,
The instructions don't require that. Try it again- you can be as angry or hate the person as much as you do. The beam of light isn't compassion necessarily. It can be a protective beam- even one that is designed to neutralize the negativity of the situation/person. Try it again. Allow yourself to be however you are.
Check back in and comment- okay?

It didn't work! I was unable to think compassionately about the person I am at odds with. It is a horrible feeling to have! I need to cultivate compassion in myself before I can sent any kind of "beam".
  • Jo Whitford     Mar 19th, 2012
I love the concept of sending a beam towards an adversary, or adversarial situation; especially a healing, loving, offering.
  • Alyson Raskin     Mar 18th, 2012
This has been my morning meditation for the past week, and i think it's a good one to continue as i slowly heal. Thank you.
  • Sharon Gollman     Mar 14th, 2012
Thank you Harshada! I have been unable to sleep since 2:30 this morning after a quarrel with my husband....I had to listen to this twice and hope it gives me the Grace and wisdom to proceed through my day.
  • Katja Stefaniak     Mar 13th, 2012
Thanks a lot, had to cry after the meditation. Although I find it hard to send love and compassion to someone who hurt me that deeply. But I am still learning. Love your meditations a lot. They really move my energy, make me feel relieved or more energized. Still to believe "that we are all one" is hard in the moment, you have to identify yourself with a person you despite. Just to say it this way. And even to find the love inside of you for this person, as you think he/she does not deserve it. A difficult journey. Thanks for these confrontations with thoughts stored in the closet of our brain. Cleaning up is not that easy sometimes .... XXX all the best to you!

Thank you for this meditation. This is EXACTLY the medidation I needed for this evening, and it is what opened on my screen as I began looking for the right meditation tonight, a gift from the universe for sure. I am going into a very tumultous harrassing situation tomorrow, in court, with a man who was once my husband, a man who has caused great pain and difficult challenges in my life and the lives of my children. This is the 10th year of this litigation, I've been begging for it to stop for so many years. I know this situation and this person was here to teach me lessons I needed to learn. It was hard to project light and energy to someone who seems heartless, who hates and hurts. But I did, and I will post after tomorrow and let you know if this healing light and energy manifested into his heart and soul. Thank you for this gift tonight, I am grateful. Namaste.

I wish I could participate with your meditation sessions, but the sound track is like nails on a chalk board. Asked prior, would be nice if even once a month no sound is used so that those of us who prefer no music could benefit from your guided practice. Got half way, and had to stop...not because of topic or you, just the awful (to me) sound. Please at least consider. Thank you.
