    Hi Jodi, I'm very petite- 5'1"- and I have a hard time getting my hips over my shoulders because I have to walk my short little legs in so closely. I can walk my feet in quite a bit since my hamstrings are so open, but my hips still aren't over my shoulders and I feel like I'm at my max in terms of almost being folded in half! Any tips for short students? Thanks!

      Kari-

      There is a place where you have gone as far as you can go. Then you have to trust and there will be a little Jump - with both feet at the same time. Once the legs leave the ground, the core/abs/bandhas will kick in and take over to get your hips up there.....

      Let me know if this makes sense. its a little bit of bandha, some faith, and just working with your beautiful body the way it is.

    In the second stage am I lifting my head a millimeter or is it my feet being lifted a mm...I couldn't really see it clearly

      Hello - 2nd stage you lift your head a TINY bit off the ground! Keep working the stages.

    Yes Lorna, I also teach handstand two legs at a time. I will do a tutorial on this because it's quite detailed! But I have found the two-legged approach is more successful!
