Class Four of the Toes to Top series: Core- Our magnetic movement center. You had me laughing from my core. The most even sided backbend, felt great! Thank you :)

Laurie, what and excellent way to laugh. Love it! XO T

Thanks, Tara. A very useful study in moving from the core. I've been focusing on core strengthening in my Saturday morning Level 1-2 class lately and was glad to find your class. Had me sweating!

Russ, Yes, the core, and so so glad you found this exploration useful. XO T

You are so playful and creative in your classes, I enjoy a lot, even when it's difficult! Makes me more and more curious to learn about the way my body works. Merci Tara!

Sylvie- Thank you for that! Miss you! Come back to Bali in April!

For the first time in years my shoulders opened so easily in backbends (lately they've only opened like that w/blocks and after lots of shoulder openers). Did this while also doing a workshop in continuum movement (was in LA of all places), was it that? or is a magnetic core connected to open shoulders?!?! In any case, thank you! another wonderful series - do you ever come teach in the northeastern US??
    • Tara Judelle     Sep 2nd, 2012
Ann, I think the more we move from our core the more easily the extremities relax into opening. I wonder if birds get tight shoulders. I'm happy you enjoyed the series. I haven't been to teach in the Northeast in a few years, but all is possible. Xo T

Great session, as usual. I have tremendous difficulty doing bakasana and bow pose. I can do shoulder stand and plow, though. I'm a big pear (10 pounds over what I should be) and can't seem to lift my heavy parts off the ground. Any suggestions?
    • Tara Judelle     Aug 28th, 2012
Denise- Keep trying! My experience is that after a few hundred times trying something, the cellular memory shifts. I think of baby birds trying to fly. It doesn't happen in the first try. It's successive tries. After a certain threshold the body will comply. It's not the extra weight, it's you body learning how to create the pose. X

Love it. As always, so very inspiring and curious. I've been doing some work with Amy Matthews and BMC lately, and much of your language is clicking in more and more powerful ways. Thanks Tara :)

I love jelly fish -- I have to add it to my mornings have-tos, with jathara.
  • Patti MacPherson     Mar 16th, 2012
    loved this, thank you!

Nice class! I never saw back bends or forward bends as core poses, but now I see these poses from a totally new perspective. Thank you Tara!!

Loved the class. I am going to use what I learned to be more of a jellyfish in my practice!
