Create Internal Equilibrium

This class for melting stress and restoring your energy, although it's not a restorative class per se. There will be flow, however the focus is on flipping the switch and activating the parasympathetic nervous system: the one that is directed at creating internal equilibrium in the body. This is often called the 'rest & digest' system as opposed to the other that we are familiar with called the 'fight or flight' and is stress inducing. Try some variations in some new postures and feel if perhaps they can relieve some common tension. Warrior 2 (virabhadrasana 2) with the head supported, crescent moon (anjaneyasana) with cactus arms, tree (vrksasana) with finger tips lightly touching above the head. Root lock pose (mulabandhasana) with knowledge seal (jnana mudra) to help bring the mind into a calm and tranquil state. Inversion time at the end and savasana!

    LOVE! I tend to have a bit of a more vigorous practice and this was exactly what I needed today to honor my lower energy level. I feel like I moved stuck energy, boosted my immune system and was challenged just enough.     I would've enjoyed this class if it didn't keep on stopping. :( I thought the first half of the sequence which I did in an hour was quite good. I wish I could've gotten through the whole sequence but I think this website doesn't really work well in Southeast Asia. :(

    I had to take two days off of my practice because of bronchitis and was feeling miserable about it... I thought all of my progress would be stunted. But I was so surprised when tonight my forward fold completely released and I was more flexible in this class than I ever have been. Perhaps I had been pushing my body too hard... to "get to this idea" of how "good" I should be at yoga. Tonight I just surrendered and let the perfectionist side of me go, and was gentle with myself - allowing myself to heal by acknowledging that I was sick - and that was okay. Anyone else experience this? Thank you Jo :)
