The Yogi's Offering

Anusara | By Noah Mazé on May 13 2011
The Yogi's Offering: This class of deep heart opening backbends means to expand the devotional offering of your heart. A passage from Light on Yoga inspires this class to the peak pose of Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana (Two Leg Inverted Staff Pose). Strong Sun Salutations, core work, supported backbends, variations of Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Balance), Urdhva Dhanurasana I and II (Upward Bow) prepare you and gather momentum for the beautiful offering of the peak pose.

    Hi Noah,
I love to revisit this practice, it's such a great one.
I wonder...where IS that 'bouncy castle'. So fun.
    Thanks again
    • Noah Maze     Mar 24th, 2013
Thanks Julia~ The bouncy castle was a long time ago...I'll have to think back.

I took this class in person and just re-did it as I'm no longer in LA. Missing your classes, but so grateful to receive them via web now. Your instruction and sequencing in this one is especially really helped me to make that offering. THANK YOU for you, and namaste

Thanks Noah, great class! For the first time able to do Pada Viparita Dandasana by myself. And maybe instead of inventing a prop for the pedicure problem, they should invent a prop for the hair that's so in the way during Viparita Dandasana, besides cutting it off ofcourse...

Hi noah!!!..the one whit the block high level between shoulder blades ...minute 43 of the video....thank you :)
  • Noah Maze     Jun 2nd, 2011
Thanks Sally and Melissa. Melissa, which pose and block set up is to unstable? In short, do what you can to make the blocks stable. Blocks that are denser and heavier will be more stable, and wedge them solidly against the wall.

hi noah!!!love this class, but any suggestion for using the blocks in another way, moves too much...thank you

Yael, that is beautiful, thank you so much for sharing. It has made me pause in deep appreciation of the power of yoga to open our hearts, and that we share this practice all over the world.

what an amazing class, Noah. Your classes always challenge me and yet I also always feel very safe. Something unexpected happened at the end of class -- when we went into full pranam, I immediately felt this huge opening in my heart that brought tears to my eyes (they are still on my yoga mat :) and this deep heartfelt prayer that I would find the path to service. This was all totally unexpected! Guess my heart must have opened in a deeper way than before during this practice. Thank you so much Noah for all that you are .. Namaste.

Ronni, that is so funny. When I taught this class, I was looking around for you, and you were conspicuously absent. Well, better late than never, but don't make a habit of it :-) xo
