Last week we let everyone know that Sianna Sherman would be at the YogaGlo studio on February 2nd and 3rd teaching six free classes. Unfortunately, Sianna will not be able to make it to our studio at this time.

The dates have not yet been rescheduled but as soon as they are, we will be sure to let everyone know.

    Sianna Sherman at YogaGlo

If you follow Sianna Sherman online or are lucky enough to have taken her classes in person as she travels the globe, you know that there’s nothing like the energy and spirit of a Sianna class. She will be at the YogaGlo studio on February 2nd and 3rd teaching SIX. FREE. CLASSES.

If you Glo in LA or the surrounding areas and want to make your way to the YogaGlo studio for these two days of Sianna deliciousness, here is the class schedule:

    Thursday, February 2nd:

    • 2:00pm – 3:30pm – Earth Prayer flow. This class is a devotional flow of breath, movement and body prayer to honor the earth and every living being. Embody Grace in a creative mix of asana, mantra, mudra and meditation.
    • 4:00pm – 5:30pm – Matsyendra’s Mythic Yoga flow. Twists and more. The myth of Matsyendra is a story of accepting all parts of our selves, including the unwanted parts. With twisting, comes deep acceptance and release into the expansive inner terrain of being.
    • 6:00pm – 7:30pm – Inner Revolution. Hips and more. Turn inside with a more introspective practice of hip openers, twists and forward folds. It’s the inner revolution that ultimately inspires the true evolution of humanity.

    Friday, February 3rd:

    • 10:00am – 11:30am – Tapasya Warrior Practice. Stoke your fire for the practice with standing poses and warrior variations. Take the seat of the warrior and cultivate a more courageous connection with your ground of being.
    • 12:00pm – 1:30pm – Abhaya Mudra and Hanuman. Abhaya mudra is a quintessential mudra depicted in the images of the deities. It classically translates as: “Have no fear.” Embody this mudra in your own asana practice with Hanuman as a main inspiration.
    • 2:00pm – 3:30pm – Ganesha at the Threshold. Backbends. Explore your own thresholds with the elephant power of Ganesha and a progressive series of backbends to free the heart energy with understanding and lightness of being.

All classes are Anusara Level 2. We look forward to seeing you at the studio for what promises to be two very full days packed with wonder.

Kathryn Budig Shift Perspective Yoga Class VideoEarlier today, we officially kicked-off our impromptu 30:30 yoga challenge. Many of you have already made time to practice yoga today and some of us (ahem, us in particular!) have yet to practice today.

As promised, we plan to feature a class of the day for each of the thirty days just in case you need an extra dose of inspiration to fit it in. Since each of your practices are unique (style, duration and level will vary for each of you) we’ll be sure to highlight many different styles, levels and durations throughout the month.

First up? Kathryn Budig’s Level 2 Vinyasa Flow class on shifting your perspective. We can’t think of a better way to kick-off this month-long intention than with a class that focuses and changing our view of things.

Let us know how you’re doing on Day One of 30:30. We’d love to hear from you in the comments if we haven’t already today.

Several YogaGlo members reached out to us in September stating they wanted to start a 30:30 challenge in October and asked us to help point them toward some classes that might be good to take during that time. That got us thinking, which got us asking you all yesterday if you’d like to join in, which led to many of you saying yes!

There were quite a few questions about how this could work, what the rules were and how it would all be tracked so you’re accountable. The beauty of our impromptu 30:30 is that there are no rules other than setting your intention to practice yoga for thirty consecutive days.

Here are some ways it could work, but it’s all up to you:

    • Classes: You can take classes on YogaGlo (lots of styles, many durations and frankly, you may want a 5-min desk yoga on day twenty-six!), at your local studio, make up your own at home or mix it up and do a combination of all three. It’s up to you.
    • Tracking: For YogaGlo members, you can use the Track Your Practice feature under My Account. Every time you take a class on YogaGlo, the time is automatically added to your monthly class total. If you take a class offline, you can easily add it to the monthly calendar by selecting Add Practice. For non-YogaGlo members, you can sign-up for the 15-day free trial if you’d like access to most classes and the ability to track part of your 30:30 challenge with us. Or, you can use this printout of our Track Your Yoga Practice feature to stay on track.
    • Accountability: A few of you expressed concern that you needed a check-in of some sort to make sure you stay motivated throughout the 30:30. We’ll be checking in daily on this blog. We’ll share a class of the day and will do a shout-out to you all so you can check-in on your progress in the comments. This will give you a daily reminder and will also allow you to meet other yogis that have taken up the challenge so you can share your joys,  challenges and insights along the way.

Today is the first day of the challenge. Are you ready? On your mat, get set, go…

In these crazy times, what IS your deepest dream and desire?

To live from our greatest depth is both Great freedom and Great relational responsibility. To live our lives as the full gesture of whole-body-awake-love is the most relieving gesture possible and often the most elusive and, exactly what great hatha yoga was designed to serve.

This Coed yoga intensive will focus bodily strength and heart awareness on the most urgently apparent psycho-physical obstructions limiting our most effective and ecstatic expression of love.  Deeply steadying yoga asana series will be interlaced with dynamic breath-work and inter-relational practices making use of the temporary yet trustable community we will create through our practice together.

Come and refresh yourself in the new-ness and the ancient-ness of the subtle cycle of tapas, bhakti and soma: Heat, Love and Grace!

Sofia Diaz is a hatha yoga master, a lineage holder in the Balasaraswati lineage of the South Indian temple arts and a recipient of numerous meditation empowerments in both Tibetan and Shakta Tantric traditions . She turns the body wisdom practices she is empowered in into accessible teachings and practices for the modern western mind. Being an inspired woman practitioner, the rigors of her practice have resulted in great clarity and expertise in the domain of Feminine Spiritual practice, which she has been generously teaching for 27 years. She is a core founder and faculty of iEvolve: Global Practice Community and a Fellow of the Integral Life Spiritual Center.

She has published writings on yoga and sacred movement in both academic and popular journals and travels frequently, teaching women’s yoga intensives throughout the world.

We are participating in a momentous leap of human consciousness – a momentous leap fueled by our own personal evolution, fueled by the realization and manifestation of our unique offering to this world.

More of us than ever before are feeling called to awaken to the fullness of our authentic power and to become active, engaged agents of evolution and change.

We’re hungry to realize the unique purpose of our lives and to share our unique gifts with the world. We sense intuitively that we have a critical role to play in shaping the future of our world – and we are right!

But what is the pathway to awakening to the fullness of our Unique Self? Where should we give our energy and attention in order to make our greatest contribution?  And how might we work together and support each other in this process?

Together we’ll create a space to engage a personal, hands-on guided exploration and practice of your unique life and purpose as it manifests through your passion, talents, and personal history such that you can awaken right now to what is emerging from your future.

Hope is a memory of the future. This is the place where you can remember your future and make it your present. No one else on this planet can make the contribution to humanity that you can. Become alive to your unique service by finding stillness, breaking through resistance and fear, listening to your calling, and ultimately taking full responsibility for the deep dimensions of your being and becoming.

Your enlightenment has a Unique Perspective held only by you. Your gifts flow from your own unique perspective, gifts that are desperately needed and desired by all of creation. You have unique contributions, unique potentials, and unique actions to offer the world, flowing from a source that manifests as unmistakably your own.

Do you want to realize the unique purpose of your life? Do you want to share your unique gifts with the world? If you do, then please join us this January as we gather our global practice community to deepen our exploration and journey of Unique Self.

Together we will learn and engage the biggest questions facing all of us:

    • How can we awaken to the fullness of our Unique Self?
    • How can we realize our unique purpose in life?
    • How can we unleash the fullness of our own creativity and unique voice?
    • How can we share our unique gifts with the world
    • What’s the relationship between our Unique self and our Unique shadow?
    • How can we best work together and support each other fully in this process?

Centered right at the heart of Integral Spiritual Practice, this evening will deepen your integral insights and energize your commitment to growth. Using the Big Mind approach – a process used to access an authentic experience of your deepest nature – we will experience how our fullest potential is developmental. At the step of relinquishing our limiting beliefs about who we are, opening to greater identity, and bringing that awareness into our everyday life is the path.
